Link4Growth is growing rapidly to rebuild our communities nationwide by meeting regularly through our easy to access, informal, community events. Open to anyone these are hugely important as they put back into position the 3rd community space. This once again enables people from any background to come together, without any other agenda, except to have conversations, get to know each other, share stories, make connections and exchange knowledge.
This is a massively important initiative in its own right, but it is only part of what is needed.
Local Community Web Sites that we can all contribute to
One of the biggest challenges of our time is sharing the enormous amount of good work that is already going on in our communities. The Link4Growth district websites allow us to all contribute to sharing what is happening in our Villages, Towns and cities. This is completely free to use and has space for listing events, adding pictures and videos, reporting local news stories, even local community TV. Local businesses have their own area too and can share updates, special offers and stories all as part of the platform for free.
Business is often described as the engine room of our local community. Business is only 30% of what goes on in a community but it is a very important part. Link4Growth recognises this and so has created Link4Business to provide services that help our local businesses to succeed. Integrating business into local community initiatives is essential for the well being of our communities, and through #L4GBuyLocal we can make these local entrepreneurs far more visible too, so we can find them easily and use them!
Running a business today is not easy especially in today’s economic climate. Moreover the advent of the Internet and social media now means that it is virtually impossible for any of us to have all the skills we need.
Online Mentoring Groups enables us to bring together a core multi disciplined team to act like a virtual board. This provides access to expert knowledge, a huge trusted and extended network of contacts and probably most important… Accountability, making sure we get the tasks that always go to the bottom of the ‘to do list’ done
Collectively as a nation we have all the knowledge that we need, the problem is that it resides within people’s heads and cannot get out to those that need it.
Link4Skills ‘the people’s university’ serves us in two ways. It provides affordable workshops and training on core needs such as social media (50% of networking will be done online by 2018), but not only that the ‘open source’ element means that we encourage people to step up and deliver workshops on their expertise. In essence we write the workshops to share our knowledge with those that need it!
The Link4Skills framework enables us to offer workshops both online and also physically in the communities.
Using the Internet, technology and free tools available to us, we are now able to create online video shows that can be broadcast in our community, regionally, nationally and globally.
We now have examples of Local community shows that are aired weekly involving members of our community sharing what is happening locally. We also have interesting shows on finance, current affairs, health and wellness, and Business.
We are also building a huge library of short videos giving people a platform to talk about their lives and their businesses. A hugely exciting part of the Link4Growth platform.
In order to connect us all together nationally, share great ideas, and replicate best practice we have the Link4Growth forums. Free to join and full access as part of the Link4Growth subscription, this is our privately owned networking platform… If all else fails…
